Dr. Keietta Givens
As the Proud Principal of Bair Middle School, I started this year with such enthusiasm for the 2017-2018 school year. This year’s theme is Beyond Expectations-Stay Focused, Stay Committed, Stay Positive. We have a rich history at Bair that involves teaching and learning, quality professional development and community partnerships that directly impact students’ academic success. My goal this year as Principal will be to continue the legacy of excellence. Our teachers are ready to teach, students are ready to learn, and the community is ready to support school-wide initiatives.
The Montessori Magnet program is entering its second year and has grown by leaps and bounds. In addition, Bair offers a variety of programs that include JADA, STEM and LEEO (Cape Academy). These programs provide opportunities for students to think critically and problem solve at a high level. Bair also has a variety of elective programs for students, which include Art, Journalism, PE, Band, Debate, Environmental Science, Peer Counseling, Spanish, and Digital Tools. Furthermore, Algebra, Spanish, Environmental Science and Geometry are offered as high school credit. As you can see, it’s all about the B.A.I.R. (Bound for College, Analytical Thinker, Intelligent, Responsible person) and that is the student Bair will send to high school after three years.
I expect Bair to move BEYOND EXPECTATIONS this year with the support of teachers, students, and community all working together toward a common goal, which is academic excellence for all students.
Have a Great year!!!
