Principal's Message

    Dear Parents,

Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year! I love the excitement of a new school year.  There are so many smiling faces eager to meet their teachers, bring in their new supplies, wear their new clothes, and start the new school year ready to learn. This year is sure to be filled with many new adventures.

Please extend a warm welcome to our new staff members. Ms. Siara Mullins is the new general clerk, and Mrs. Janet Jones is the new STEAM special teacher.  I am also happy to announce that Mrs. Lisa Wank from the front office will be the new bookkeeper at Riverglades.

I am excited to share that this school year, we will break ground on a new 24-room classroom addition. With that in mind, we chose our theme for the year – More than Bricks, Building our Future!

I think this theme is perfect with so many important messages.  Riverglades’ staff work together to build a solid foundation for our students. The foundation and lessons we construct will lead students to a successful future.

In addition, fourth and fifth grade will also become D4 and D5 (Digital) classrooms. This means all 4th and 5th grade students will have an individual laptop to use as part of their daily instruction.  The teachers will be able to integrate technology into their daily instruction using a program called, Canvas.

I am blessed to have such an active and passionate PTA. We share the same vision to make Riverglades the best school in Broward County. In a collaborative effort between the school and PTA, Riverglades will have a brand new state of the art broadcast system for morning announcements, new laptop computers, and new yoga ball chairs to assist students with focusing.  PTA also funded teacher wish lists and eco friendly filtered water fountains with bottle fillers.

    I look forward to a fabulous 2016 - 2017 school year.

    Mrs. Seltzer, Proud Principal
