    Cooper City High School is an outstanding institution of higher learning.  We are very proud of the many accomplishments attained by students and staff and present to you the following well-deserved recognition that has been attained this year that leads to our  “Continuing 'A'  Tradition of EXCELLENCE”.

    Congratulations to DECA President Max Mickenberg on placing 2nd in the world in the Hospitality and Tourism Professional Selling event at DECA International Competition. Also, please congratulate our co-president Matthew Plonskier on his award for top test score in the Restaurant and Food Service Event and Samanatha Steinberg on her award for top presentation score for the Fashion Promotion Plan Event. Over 18,000 students from the US, Canada, as well as multiple other countries competed at DECA Internationals in Nashville, TN over the last 4 days. We are very proud of our winners and all 31 students who qualified and competed!

    Our very own National Honor Society attended their annual NHS Convention in which they were tasked with presenting their project and fundraising achievements for the year.  This year, Cooper City High had an impressive showing, receiving awards and recognition in multiple categories:


    Fundraising – 1st place for the Art Gala project
    Citizen Development – 1st place for our January Mock Election
    Scrapbook – 3rd place
    For the fifth (5) year in a row we are a county Gold Chapter.
    Our officers also won their county election for President of the Broward County Chapter of NHS


    Debate National Qualifiers Sacramento Bound!! Congratulations to our 4 amazing national qualifiers who dominated in today's tournament at St. Thomas Aquinas.  They are now in the running for the title of CFL National Champion at the national tournament in Sacramento, California.

    Congratulations go to Hannah Levine for moving on to the semi-final round of the Biology Olympiad. She finished in the top 10% nationwide.


    CTV traveled to Atlanta, GA to compete in our annual National Television convention, STN.
    We are proud to say that CTV placed 2nd as the best news show in the nation, but due to another schools mishaps, they where disqualified as the first place winner and CTV Became #1.
    We also took 2nd place in news scriptwriting by Seren Marchovich
    And took Honorable mention in action sports editing by Kalli Rogers.

    Congratulations to Max Mickenberg, our debate and DECA president, for qualifying to NSDA Nationals in Salt Lake City! He is our first qualifier since 2007 and worked tirelessly during the 25 grueling hours of debate for his title.

    Please join us in congratulating our Advanced Placement Art students who were recognized at the 2016 Superintendent's Advanced Placement Studio Art exhibition.   This exhibition showcases original artwork of high school Advanced Placement  students and took place from January 4th to February 1st.     We congratulate the winner of the Poetry Out Loud school wide competition:DAVID POLE

    Wrestling Team placed 4th out 28 teams at the BCAA Championship this past week end. Congratulations to all!!!


    We are pleased congratulate our awesome debaters for qualifying to Varsity States March 2016!
    Parth Ahya and Karina Blodnieks qualified in Lincoln Douglas debate and will debate next month at Varsity State in Orlando.  
    Logan Silverman qualified as our first alternate in Oral Interpretation, and Jared Ally was a finalist in Lincoln Douglas debate.

    Congratulations to the follow DECA members who placed in the top 3 in Broward County in their respective categories. They were recognized at the District Award Ceremony on January 25th at Nova Southeastern.

    Our first place winners were Blane Silverman in Food Services Marketing, Jose Penalver in the Start Up Business Plan event, the team of Sami Saniei and Jake Samuelson in the Financial Service Team Decision Making event and the team of Landon Counts and Hunter Harrington in the Sports and Entertainment Marketing Team Decision Making event.

    Our second place winners were the team of Aaron Slann and Thomas John in the Financial Service Team Decision Making event, Megan Tompkins and Erin Donovan in the Hospitality and Tourism Team Decision Making event, Ariel Vorona and Daniel Tila-Cohen for their Advertising Campaign and Benjamin Milgram in Business Services Marketing.

    Our third place winners were the team of Lucia Tsai and Christine Kim in the Business Law and Ethics Team Decision Making event, Timothy Krause and Yassen Mubarak in Travel and Tourism Team Decision Making, Ariel Marcus in the Principles of Marketing event, Ariel Goldberg in the Advertising Campaign event, Samantha Steinberg and Andy Meyers in the Fashion Promotion Plan event, and Megan Pitt in the category of Personal Financial Literacy.

    We had 105 students that qualified for state competition March 3-6 in Orlando in both testing and written events!


    The Miami Herald has announced their all-county players.  We are very proud to say that Carly Smitherman made the second team honors, and Zoe Hobson, Erin Silverman, Ashley Lizzi, and Sabrina Cajuste have made honorable mention honors.
    These honors accompany the SunSentinel All County second team honors for Carly Smitherman and Zoe Hobson.  These volleyball players have stepped up their game and have represented Cooper City very well.  Congratulations to all


    Congratulations to Kelly Gahagan for representing  Cooper City High School and the State of Florida  at the  Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders in Boston, Massachusetts  over the summer.    What an incredible opportunity!!!. Way to go Kelly!!!   


    Congratulations to our up and coming award winning Debate program---as the Cooper City chapter achieved 200 or more degrees last year and is now ranked among the top 7.5% of schools nationwide and earned membership in the National Speech and Debate Association's prestigious 200 Club. Congratulations to club sponsor Wendy Schauben, and all of our Debate students!!!!!


    And at the Crestian Tradition National Tournament at Cypress Bay:

    • Junior (and president) Max Mickenberg won FIRST PLACE in Impromptu and sixth place in Extemporaneous Speaking!
    • Freshman Collin Schwantes won sixth place in Impromptu and top novice in Impromptu, receiving a $450 scholarship to Champion Briefs Institute.
    • Freshman Alina Pereyra won top novice in Original Oratory, receiving a $450 scholarship to Champion Briefs Institute.
    • Junior Karina Blodnieks was an Octofinalist in Lincoln Douglas Debate.

    As this was a National tournament, Max received a bid to the Tournament of Champions, a very esteemed tournament that you can only qualify for by placing at a national tournament.


    Congratulations to the Girls Cross Country team for winning Districts.  We wish them the very best of luck as they move on to State competition on November 6th.  Also, congratulations  to Jose Penalver for qualifying for States from the boys  team.   


    Congratulations to the Boys and Girls Swim teams for their 2nd place finish at Districts.  A special thanks goes out to Coach Ankey.   Thank you for all you do.  You all had an awesome season! Many accomplishments!
